Archbishop Sample recently was asked, "Why do we exist?". He responded with a simple and profound answer, "We exist to witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ! 

In response to the question "What do we do", our shepherd said that "We minister the salvation of Jesus Christ by exercising His mission to teach, sanctify and shepherd His people."

From Astoria to Brookings, parishes will succeed on this mission by "focusing on the people we have." From Ashland to Gresham, clergy & laity are also called to "bring people to a living and transformational encounter with Jesus Christ". From Shady Cove to Portland, the Archdiocese of Portland will succeed by "educating people to embrace the true teachings of the Catholic Church."

Let us follow this unified vision; because, after all, everything else becomes just tactics.
